ABOUT THE ROLE
Our People and Culture team are recruiting a Learning and Development/Talent Development Partner to join the team on a mat cover 6 month fixed term contract, ideally starting as soon as possible.
This will be a stand alone role where you will be responsible for the logistical planning and implementation of learning opportunities, improving training and compliance, and developing the workforce to achieve our strategic objectives through a well-developed and trained foundation. You will manage two Programme Managers and will work alongside a full team of 12 in the P&C Team , including Talent Acquisition, Workforce Development, and P&C Generalists.
We have a lot of exciting projects upcoming, and you will have the autonomy to own, design, and deliver on business critical projects with the Learning and Development/Talent Development function in the next 6 months!
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 - 5, hybrid. On Mondays, the full P&C team are in the office so travel to central office will be required, plus one day at any of our services

We're looking for someone who has previous experience and confidence in coaching and advising managers and colleagues with varied talent development activities! OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
LINE MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP
- Responsible for management and leadership of employees throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Be aware of and support team activities with working spaces and offices, health and safety, and system management.
- Build effective internal relationships across the organisation and ensure consistent communication, with adherence to our policies and processes.
- Proactively embed a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation in a psychologically informed environment.
CO-ORDINATION
- Manage and coordinate all training and development activities.
- Be the first point of contact for all training and development enquiries.
- Coordinate all training activities, including booking delegates, venues, training providers, equipment, and other necessary materials and resources.
- Ensure training systems, materials and programs are managed and continuously updated.
- Source and partner with a network of external and internal training providers, utilise resource.
- Continuous improvement for the function, manage return on investment for additional resource and alignment with business growth and values.
DEVELOPMENT
- Promote the organisation’s commitment to investment in personal development as a means of improving employee morale and engagement
- Work with the wider People and Culture team and other colleagues to continuously promote a culture of learning and personal growth through coaching, empowerment, and feedback.
- Introduce, develop, and maintain appropriate schemes and programmes for the organisation to benefit the workforce.
ADDITIONAL
- Work collaboratively with the wider P&C team and support with various other activities and developments within the team.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally throughout the organisation and externally with partners and organisations.
- Learn and manage other digital programs within the organisation and support training and development for all staff and smaller teams where required.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.
KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in a similar role of at least two years
- Experience in coaching and advising managers and colleagues
- Knowledge in and practical application of delivery of a learning and development program professionally
- Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, advanced knowledge in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Able to learn and deliver training on new programs
- Ability to make commercially and value-driven balanced decisions, including the use of data to make decisions and reports
What we would like, but not essential:
- Knowledge of the health and social care sector or similar environment, particularly from a training compliance point of view
- Knowledge of Apprenticeship schemes and/or other similar initiatives and programmes
