ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for a number of Bank / Relief Recovery Support Workers to join our service in Camberwell, where you will have responsibility for providing high quality support services in line with SIG and Equinox's Mission, Values and Strategy. As a Recovery Worker, you will contribute to successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our Residents and Participants back into the community. Providing pathways, support, and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements, and deliver to achieve safer and integrated communities for our stakeholders.

ABOUT THE SERVICE
Southampton Way is a short-term (up to two years) supported living service for people who have an enduring mental health diagnosis and who require and can benefit from, the help and support offered. It consists of 14 self-contained flats and one crisis room for adult men with medium to high-level support needs who require 24-hour supported accommodation, helping them to continue to live in the community and to reduce the risk of admission to hospital. Our main objective is to support our residents to attain stability in their personal circumstances and to help them to develop their confidence and daily living skills in order to enable a move to lower-support housing or more independent living. We work with local voluntary groups and peer mentors to facilitate residents’ community engagement. Examples, include supporting residents to enrol in local colleges, leisure centres, day centres, CGL programmes to address substance misuse and voluntary work

You will be able to work along with other members of staff, reporting to the Service Manager, will contribute to successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our residents and participants back into the community. Providing pathways, support and appropriate interventions that will enable successful re-settlements and work with external partners, agencies, and commissioners to achieve the desired outcomes of the service, delivering safer more integrated communities for all stakeholders.
You are someone who can communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds and can respect equality, diversity, and inclusion. You are confident in working in the social care setting and can be compassionate, supportive, and empowering to others. They will be able to form effective, positive, and motivational relationships.
You are willing to learn, and have a professional qualification or experience working in health and social care, working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours. Willing to understanding of the practical application of key legislation regarding social care, housing, criminal justice, and mental health. Working with the agreed support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals.
We are looking for a team player, driven to provide high quality care and support to others, an effective communicator who is able to build rapport with others from various backgrounds. You will be compassionate, supportive, and empowering to others, whilst able to form effective, positive and motivational relationships.
This role requires a DBS check.
