ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Support Worker with personal lived experience to join the team which consists of Mental Health Advisors, and an Occupational Therapist within the Adult Community Pathway. The role delivers care and support to those who are mistrusting current services on offer in the community. This role will work alongside South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) who provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. They also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol with 4,600 staff serving a local population of 1.3 million people.
You will use your own personal lived experiences and knowledge to build trusting trusting and supportive relationships with our participants, supporting them to reach their goals. You will offer enhanced support to these individuals, offering assertive, and flexible flexible support to individuals to engage with community resources and reduce the need for detention and long admissions.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 - 5, based out in the community with some flexibility to work from home for admin days
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who has lived experience of substance misuse, you will be able to empower others to make a change, using your own personal experiences to motivate and support our participants to turn their lives around. You will be creative and able to support and implement new ideas and initiatives. You will be a team player, motivated by supporting others to achieve their personal goals, using your own lived experience.
